In the quest for optimal health, vitality, and weight management, there are a few paths that emerge, but few are as debated and discussed as the Paleo, Keto, and Carnivore diets. Each of these diets has its own unique philosophy, benefits, and guidelines that can dramatically transform your health and lifestyle. But how do you choose the right one for you? We're here to demystify these popular diets and guide you to your optimal health. Before we go any further, I believe in the power of these three ways of eating. Other words pop up like "ketovore" and other weird and wonderful scripts but my philosophy is based on Paleo, Keto and Carnivore... All three are ANIMAL BASED WAYS OF EATING. that means we prioritise ANIMAL PROTEIN AND FATS over anything else. 

Vegan is unhealthy, the SAD or SBD (standard american diet, standard british diet) are both mostly plant based as you tend to eat more plant based crap anyway. But more info on these later ...

🍖 Paleo: Back to the Stone Age

The Philosophy:

The Paleo diet, also known as the Caveman Diet, is founded on the principle of eating like our Paleolithic ancestors. It emphasises whole foods that could be hunted or gathered, such as meats, fish, nuts, seeds, fruits, and vegetables.

What Sets It Apart:

  • Whole Foods Focus: No processed foods, grains, dairy, or legumes.
  • Nutrient-Dense: High in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants from a variety of natural food sources.

This can often be higher in carbs as ypou can have foods such as sweet potatoes and other fruits higher in carbs. 

🧁 Keto: Mastering the Art of Fat Burning

The Philosophy:

The Ketogenic diet is known by many as a high-fat, moderate-protein, and very low-carbohydrate diet that aims to shift your body into ketosis, a state where it burns fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates. My take and teachings aim for the right amounts of fat, the right amounts of protein and damn low on carbs ! 

What Sets It Apart:

  • Macronutrient Ratios: Typically, 70-80% fat, 15-20% protein, and 5-10% carbohydrates. - But again, I work out macros directly to personal needs. Because 80% of what ?? - Also more on this later.... 
  • Ketosis: Promotes weight loss, improved energy levels, and potential therapeutic effects on various diseases.

🍖🔥 Carnivore: The Ultimate Elimination Diet

The Philosophy:

The Carnivore Diet takes simplicity to the extreme, advocating for a diet consisting entirely of animal products. It's seen by its followers as the ultimate elimination diet, removing potential inflammatory foods to heal the body.

What Sets It Apart:

  • Animal-Based: Only meat, fish, eggs, and sometimes dairy; excludes all plant-based foods, including coffee, supplements and other kinds of ketone powders or things like this. 
  • Potential Benefits: Reported improvements in digestion, reduction of autoimmune symptoms, and simplicity in meal planning.

🤔 Which One Is Right for You?

Choosing between Paleo, Keto, and Carnivore diets depends on your health goals, dietary preferences, and how your body responds to different foods. Here are some considerations:

  • Paleo might be your path if you're looking to eat cleaner, reduce processed foods, and enjoy a variety of whole foods. it's a great way to transition into Keto.
  • Keto could be the key if your goal is weight loss, blood sugar control, or exploring the benefits of ketosis.
  • Carnivore may appeal if you're curious about the impacts of an all-animal product diet, especially if you're dealing with autoimmune issues or seeking dietary simplicity.

Final Points...

One last point.... I started with Paleo and moved to Keto, I then went to Carnivore and found this good for a time but ultimately I enjoy Keto the most. I gives me what I need - on the flip side last week I have a banana which although is considered Paleo its not grown in my region, although nor are avocados and Keto coaches push those to the max... I eat regional, season and as much organic free range as I possibly can. People are on a budget so take this into consideration as well. 

If you are on Keto or Carnivore and want a "Cheat Meal" then go with a Paleo friendly "Cheat" ----- 

The key is not to go back to the junk life you had before.
